Town’s MSP congratulates local groups on Big Lottery Fund success


CUMBERNAULD and Kilsyth SNP MSP Jamie Hepburn, has welcomed the news that three local groups have managed to secure additional funding from the Big Lottery Fund. 

 

The three groups set to benefit are Cumbernauld Rugby Football Club, Airborne Forces Association Scotland Branch No. 1 and Scottish Spina Bifida Association, all based in Cumbernauld.

 

Cumbernauld Rugby Football Club has recently received £6500 Awards for All grant from SportScotland, which will go towards the running of rugby taster sessions aimed at getting youngsters involved in the sport.

 

Airborne Forces Association Scotland Branch No. 1 have received funding from the Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund of £1676 for new equipment, such as flags and flag poles.

 

Scottish Spina Bifida Association based in Cumbernauld have also received a grant £8000 from the Awards for All grant from Big Lottery Fund, which will go towards consultations which will enable the association to find out ways in which the can better support carers.

 

Commenting Mr Hepburn said: “I am very pleased to hear about this funding boost for all the local groups involved and I have written to all of them to extend my congratulations to all individuals who worked hard to secure the funding.

 

“All of the projects receiving funding will benefit many people throughout the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area, and I wish them every success for the future.

 

The MSP added: “I would urge any groups across the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area in need of additional funding to contact the Big Lottery Fund, in the hope that they can carry on the success of the previous applicants from the area.”
