Cumbernauld firm beats the bust in a move which sees it forced to expand

CUMBERNAULD-based CMS Enviro Systems Limited, has beaten the bust to welcome a business boom, as the business is forced to relocate their Blairlinn premises after the firm could not keep up with demand.

CMS Enviro Systems, which is one of Scotland’s largest independent window manufacturers, has moved its 150 staff to a brand new 15 acre site beside the M80 at Castlecary after meticulously planned move.

The firm, which secured an impressive £8 million worth of orders in the last six months, in contracts which include full re-fits of schools, high rises and businesses in a client base which extends to housing associations, utility companies and home owners, has said that it simply outgrew its previous headquarters.

Managing director Andrew Kerr said: “As levels of manufacturing and recycling were surpassing all of our expectations and growth projections, we acknowledged that we had to invest in larger premises to accommodate our expanding order book.

“And the location was strategically chosen to best serve our existing contracts next to one of Scotland’s main motorways,” he added.

The company’s new operation is home to the company’s PVCu and aluminium manufacturing, recycling and administrative functions.

The firm has been shown as a good example of a ‘green’ business as it recycles all the material that it is effectively replacing - a title that satisfies strict Scottish Government targets on waste.
