CUMBERNAULD will be getting into the festive feeling yet again as North Lanarkshire’s Town Centre Activities prepare to host the annual lights switch on.

To host this year’s event TCA Local has once again joined forces with Cumbernauld Shopping Centre to light up the town centre for Christmas.

Following on from the success of last year’s switch on with Lloyd Daniels, TCA Local and shopping centre manager Robert Barr are delighted to be bringing more entertainment to Cumbernauld for this year’s event with Melanie Masson, Bags of Rock, Barbara Bryceland and more.

On stage will be hosts Ewen Cameron of Real Radio and STV’s Josie Smith, who will be presenting tremendous entertainment from surprise guests. The fun starts at 1.30pm, Saturday 17th November in the Cumbernauld Shopping Centre car park, just off Central Way.

Town Centre Co-ordinator Jack Duffy commented: “We’ve been working hard to put together a great show for this year’s Christmas lights switch-on in Cumbernauld and I’m pleased with the line-up”

“We’re delighted to be bringing well known stars to Cumbernauld and I’m sure they’ll attract a big crowd on the day. It promises to be a great day for the family and we encourage everyone to get there early to get a good spot in the crowd and to support their local town centre”

Of course no light switch on would be complete without a visit from Santa. He’ll be there on the day to help switch on the lights and will bring along his magic post box for the kids to post their letters to the North Pole, so don’t forget to bring your letters along and please remember to include the return address.

Santa will be sharing this experience with other great entertainment such as professional dance troupe “BLOK”, community choir “Soundsational” and Kennedy Cupcakes.
