THE Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Youth Music Project have appealed for volunteers to come forward and help organise and run the project and its future events.

The project, which was founded in September, this year is currently being headed up by David Cooke, the Chair of Cumbernauld Events Forum.

The music project, whose aim is to promote unsigned artists from around Cumbernauld, giving them an opportunity to rock out on stage under the spotlight to the young people in the community, will build upon big events such as Oxjam Cumbernauld 2012, which was also organised by the Cumnbernauld Events Forum.

Appealing for volunteers to help further plan and organise the project, a spokesperson said: “Within the next few weeks we [Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Youth Music Project] will be building a youth team to plan the event.

“We [Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Youth Music Project] are looking for anyone aged 14 to 25 to help with the planning and running of the youth music event in addition we will be looking for youth bands to perform at our events.”
