Cumbernauld’s Centurions BMX club has temporarily called off their club sessions.

Following record rain fall the BMX club was forced to inform its members that its practice and competition sessions would be called off due to a waterlogged track.

The club’s track, which is adjacent to St Maurice’s High School, in Cumbernauld, was waterlogged after Scotland saw almost three months’ worth of rain fall in one month.

The club have since said that their sessions will be postponed until further notice.

Announcing the cancellations earlier this month, through the group’s Facebook page, a club spokesperson said: “Unfortunately due to the severe rainfall our track is in of some major repair.

“We [Cumbernauld Centurions] have had to cancel all sessions until further notice.

“We [Cumbernauld Centurions] will keep you updated with the situation,” added the spokesperson.
