Cumbernauld Amateur Athletics Club congratulate winning members

Cumbernauld Amateur Athletics Club have congratulated all of their members who competed in the club’s recent competitions.

This year’s competitions, which were held on Monday 11th and Thursday 14th June, saw numerous young athletic hopefuls show up to let their athletic talent shine through.

In an online statement, a club spokesperson said: “Well done to all of the young athletes who competed in this year’s club championships.”

“There were a record number of entries and all events were keenly contested. Thanks also to those parents who helped measure time or simply encourage the athletes.

The club also went on to congratulate some of their members who had competed in outdoor running and field competitions, over the past month.

The spokesperson added: “Also, well done to those athletes from the club who have been representing their respective schools at ‘County’ and ‘National’ Outdoor Track and Field Championships in recent weeks. There have been many positive performances, personal bests and medals.

The club’s spokesperson then went on to give a “special mention”  “…to Eilidh Duncan who continued her fine recent form, with Silver and Bronze medals in the Girls under 16 Shot Put and Discus events.”
